How it works

Three steps. Then the file is on their computer.

Keep KeyBridge Platform open on both computers until the transfer finishes.

Copy their ID

Each computer shows an ID on the left. The receiver copies it and gives it to the sender.

Meet, then send

The sender types that ID, clicks Meet, chooses the file, and clicks Send. One person or many.

Accept

The request appears at the top. They click Accept, choose the folder, and the pieces start.

If the computers cannot reach each other, the meeting passes locked pieces and drops them. Android uses the same ID, Meet, and Accept.

Install

Open it on Windows, Linux, or Android.

Both computers need the program. Use the same ID and password on each one if you want the same account.

Windows

  1. Download KeyBridgePlatform-Setup.exe.
  2. If the browser says the download is uncommon, choose Keep.
  3. If Windows asks, choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is not code-signed yet.
  4. Open the desktop shortcut. Your ID is on the left.

Linux, including Kali

64-bit Linux with Firefox or Chromium. In a terminal:

cd ~/Downloads
tar -xzf KeyBridgePlatform-linux-x64.tar.gz
cd KeyBridgePlatform
sh KeyBridgePlatform

If the file window does not open, run sudo apt install zenity and start it again.

Android

Same ID and password as on a computer. The sender types the ID, taps Meet, chooses the file, and taps Send. The receiver taps Accept. It is not on the Play Store.

Scan the code, or download KeyBridgePlatform.apk.

  1. Open the file on the phone. If Android already has the empty test app, install this one over it.
  2. If Android asks, allow installs from this browser.
  3. Keep the app open until the file finishes. Tap Save to put a received file in Downloads.

Before you send the first file.

Who types the ID?

The sender types the receiver’s ID and clicks Meet. The receiver does not type a code. They accept the request.

Can I send to more than one person?

Yes. Choose Many people, tick each ID, then send once. Each person accepts on their own computer.

What uses the monthly allowance?

Sends that go through the meeting. A transfer on the same network is not counted. Receiving is free. The balance in the app is the allowance the meeting is using today.

Can I use a phone?

Yes, with the Android app. Use the same ID and password. Scan the QR code in Install, or use Download for Android. It is not on the Play Store. Keep the app open until the transfer finishes.

What does the meeting keep?

For an internet send, the account can list the file name, size, and recipient. The file itself is not kept. Same-network transfers are not listed.

Privacy

The file is locked before it leaves.

Pieces are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on the sender’s computer. The key stays with the two computers. It is not stored as the file on the meeting.

Direct path. If the receiver can reach the sender, the pieces come from that computer.

Meeting path. Otherwise the meeting relays locked pieces and drops them as they are delivered.

Account. You sign in with the ID and password saved in the program. There is no separate website password.

Not included. There is no published security audit, and the Windows installer is not code-signed yet.
